which, when mixed with a little artistic license cause many to scartch their
heads, and say, Tha's no my tartan!"

Here we discuss tartan, per se, it's origins,
history, significance, and how you find yours. The differences, between, and
among, Clan, Family, Sept, and Personal tartans. The meaning of District,
Corporate, Commemorative, and Memorial Tartans. We'll leave the discussion of
color and geometry, and the quality control, or lack thereof, for a discussion
more properly associated with weaving, i.e., manufacturing.

If you're having a new tartan designed and woven just for you, there are a few
things you should know. We discuss costs, time, setts, colors, and the
importance of you and your family in its creation. Make no mistake, once it's
done and registered, it's yours until, and unless, you allow some one else to
wear it, or reproduce it. If you don't want it on a biscuit tin you can just
say no!
